My own bank statements from Iran weren't going to carry much weight since they can't really be verified from outside. Emig suggested building the financial case around my sister's sponsorship instead, since she's already in Canada. Visa issued in February, made it to her graduation in Montreal. Really thankful to Emig for finding the right angle when my own approach wouldn't have worked.
