Canada Working Holiday Visa for Ages 18–35

What International Experience Canada Is

International Experience Canada, or IEC, is a work permit program for young adults from countries that have a youth mobility agreement with Canada. It runs through three separate streams: Working Holiday, Young Professionals, and International Co-op. It's built for people who want real Canadian work experience without needing a job offer lined up first.

How It Works For You

You create a profile, select your pool, and if you're selected, you'll receive an invitation to apply that you must accept within 10 days. Each year's pools open on a set schedule and close once that season's spots fill, so timing your profile matters. Under the Working Holiday stream, your work permit is open, meaning you can work for almost any employer across Canada instead of being tied to one job.

Who This Program Is Best For

IEC suits young people, generally between 18 and 35 depending on their home country's agreement, who want to combine working and travelling in Canada. No prior Canadian job offer or employer sponsorship is required just to join the pool. It's a practical first step for anyone building Canadian work experience that could support other immigration pathways later on.
